My love affair with Shelties probably began the day I was born. My Mom raised Shelties and we kids were as well trained as they were! I helped groom them and show them, feed them and exercise them. My sister and I (and all of our girlfriends) made sure that all the puppies were very well socialized - you know how it is - girls and puppies! My Mom believed that a dog should have everything - type, temperament and trainability. She had high standards, and so do I.
My dogs are my furkids, plain and simple. They are a part of me, they are my constant companions and they are never far from my side. They sleep in my room, eat in the kitchen and, because I own my own grooming business, I am lucky enough to have them accompany me to work each and every day. When they hear me pick up my keys they hit the front door with enthusiasm and, whether I am taking them for a walk in the bush or going grocery shopping, they are only too happy to be with Mom.
